Houses of Consolidation
The succedent houses — 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 11th — follow immediately after each of the four angular houses. They represent the consolidation and sustaining of what the angles initiate. The 2nd house consolidates the 1st (self → resources). The 5th consolidates the 4th (home → creativity and children). The 8th consolidates the 7th (partnership → shared resources and transformation). The 11th consolidates the 10th (career → community, allies, and social networks).

| 8th House | 7th (Descendant) | Shared resources, death, transformation |
| 11th House | 10th (MC) | Friends, groups, hopes, social networks |
Planets in Succedent Houses
Planets in succedent houses are considered medium-strength — not as powerful as angular planets but not as diffuse as cadent ones. They tend to manifest steadily and sustainably rather than explosively. The 5th and 11th houses are traditionally associated with good fortune in classical astrology — the 5th as the "house of good fortune" and the 11th as the "house of the good daemon." A strong planet in the 11th (especially Jupiter) is considered highly beneficial in traditional chart assessment.
